sometimes memories are so strong and stressful that it is difficult to leave them behind, there is some fear of bad memories and the present gets overshadowed.is it possible with persistent effort to overcome the past thoughts at least.the only salvation i find is in praying to the almighty.is this cowardice as i fail to find any action except prayer to help me forget.is this inaction?please advise .

many times we ourselves are reluctant to let go of our past. It is necessarily owing to the fact that we love our past. Yes! we love our bad memories as much as we love our good ones… our memories create an attachment with our emotions and this causes them to affect us in the present as well.. the way to resolve this is to just be centered in the present tense.. and always be pro-active.. when the mind stops being creative, it starts to give problems.. so the main thing is that we must first learn to train our mind; so that we wont fall into recurrent bouts of depression…when we pray, we train our mind as we make it fall into a rhythm… we must try and achieve that level of tranquility in our daily life.. we can only do so by completely letting go of our past memories.. as long as the lesson is learnt..that is enough, we don’t need the emotional baggage at all…:)
