The publication ceremony of ‘The Last Pilgrimage’ was held on Sunday 28 March 2010. The Last Pilgrimage is a spiritual novel written by Ajinkya Mate. The ceremony took place at Pune Vidyarthi Griha’s COET Auditorium
Dr. Prasad D. Patil (Hon. Chancellor, D Y Patil University) was present as the chief guest. The ceremony was presided over by acclaimed spiritual researcher Shree Milindji Moghe. Other notables included Mr. J S R Kutty, Head Businees Planning ERC, Tata Motors & Mr. Uma Maheshwaram, CTO Tata Motors.
The atmosphere was charged as Dr. Patil unveiled the highly anticipated book amidst much festivities. ”I am truly impressed by the author’s skill at handling such a mature subject at such a young age”, he remarked referring to the 22 year old author. Ajinkya Mate on his part addressed the audience by saying, “This is not a sermonic book. It is a story; it is my story; it is your story; it is our story”. Shree Milindji Moghe complimented that assertion by giving some healthy pointers for pro-active living. “True Spirituality is always based upon creativity; the more creative you are, the more spiritual you become”, he thus said.
The event was managed by Rotaract Club of Pune, Pashan. The crowd was blissfully enchanted by the activities of the evening and were eager to grab a copy of the book itself.
